Chapter 6

It had been an hour after leaving Okirai, Ijiro and Asura had been following a eroded dirt trail. They didn't know where it lead to and they decided they wouldn't mind considering they had no destination in mind.

"Lets take a break and go through the things we have brought with us, just in case we forgot something" announced Ijiro slightly exhausted from the continuous walking.

"Water bottles"

"Check"

"Food supply"

"Sandwiches and biscuits, check"

"Map"

"Check"

"Compass"

"Check"

This list went on and on, until they had confirmed that all their items were still in place they started eating. Their food and water supply would only last them at most 3 days, 6 days if rationed. They started setting up camp as night wore on a much deeper, chilling, pitch-darkness enwrapped itself around Ijiro and Asura as they began to feel as though they were being submerged in a dark sea slowly sinking into the cold, unplumbed blackness. They hadn't realized the woods they had setup camp in were filled with magic, if only they had checked their map that they would realized they had setup camp at Vendral Woods, notorious for it's massive flow of Dark magic, it is territorial land of the Centaurs, they had ruled the parts for almost a decade now and no one dared opposed on since they were at an advantage with Dark magic. Slowly as Ijiro and Asura fell unconscious, black figures approached them, by then they had already drifted into limbo.

Asura regained conscious slowly, she managed to come to her senses way faster thanks to her HearthGear, rotating her head to survey her surroundings, she spotted Ijiro being carried by two weird looking creatures, they seemed to have the body of a man but the lower parts seemed to look like horses, Centaurs, she had read about them in school. One of them turned towards her sensing movement, she quickly dropped her head playing unconscious hoping to have fooled them. Which she did due to Centaur's horrible eyesight, they had a strong sense of smell in substitution.

"Are we there yet?" one of the Centaurs asked another, his voice raspy and deep.

"Close, we're not far from base, once we get there, our dinner won't be able to escape"

Asura had decided, no way was she going to let them bring her there, she had to free Ijiro and escaped fast. She had counted 3 centaurs in total, two carrying both of them, once carrying what seemed to be wooden rack. 3 against one, that seemed fair, quickly elbowing the back of the head of the centaur carrying her, managed to weaken his grip allowing her to pry free.

"Oi! Get her!"

Asura quickly dodged the centaur's wooden club and delivered a fatal blow to the side of his head in return, the centaur collapsed immediately. She ran into the centaur carrying Ijiro, suddenly her head spun as reality started losing it's grip. She had realized she was being affected by dark magic, the Centaur's favorite weapon of choice. I have to fight it back she thought, controlling the Flux she imagined an imaginary barrier surrounding her mind, made out of the Flux reflecting the dark magic forced into her. She managed to regain conscious just as one of the centaurs swung his club at her. She stepped right and thrusted an arrow into the guts of the centaur, blood spilled forward as the arrow dug deeper into the centaur's flesh. With a final scream of pain the centaur collapsed.

The centaur carrying Ijiro sprinted away attempting to escape with Ijiro, Asura wasn't going to let that happen, concentrating the Flux to the bottom of her feet, she sprang forward with such momentum it broke the ground beneath her, with a flash she appeared in front of the centaur, thrusting the arrow into his guts similar to what she did with the previous centaur, they died similarly to.

"Wake up Ijiro you useless piece of shit" Asura jeered shaking the half conscious Ijiro up.

"Huh? What happened?"

"We were put asleep by the Centaur's dark magic and carried away, but luckily I managed to free us both!" Asura said with a hint of pride.

Looking at the carnage Ijiro did see dead bodies of centaurs.

"What happened to all out stuff?"

"I don't know but I'm sure we can find them if we retrace our steps"

"You two aren't going anywhere!" a deep voice boomed from behind them, turning around only to come face to face with a centaur definitely bigger than the previous three.

"Now now, are these the humans who killed my 3 fellow centaurs? Well in return I must return the favour, by killing them both"
