"Wha..." Ijiro stammered
"Yes yes, it is I Bishamonten, now quickly raise your arms so that I can fit your HearthGears on you"
"Wha...we're not even 18 yet"
"So? You both have been chosen to become the legendary Paladin! Age doesn't matter!"
"I have sooo many questions, how can we both be the legendary Paladin and why us?"
"Isn't it your dream to become the Paladin?"
"Of course but... I still need answers"
"Very well, answering your first question. You both can become legendary Paladins simply because I have blessed both of you! Second answer, I chose both of you because you're both special, don't you see it? You both can control the Flux! No ordinary human can! And your bravery and heroism, you intelligence, it-its just heroic! You both certainly do have all the necessary traits! Furthermore your goal is clear! Bring humanity back from the ashes and climb the rankings!"
"Okay...but that still does not prove you're the Bishamonten"
"Of course I am! Doesn't 'transforming from helpless lady to flying shining goddess' and the 'disappearing dead bodies act" convince you enough?"
Looking closely Ijiro did realize she was right, she was in fact hovering a few feet above air, and her once dark brown hair and changed into a blond-ish gold and her skin was glowing a bit brightly. Furthermore the two older men whom Asura had knocked out unconscious did disappear.
"You could've been manipulating the flux?" Asura answered, she had been quiet the whole conversation and as a result startled Bishamonten slightly.
"Very well, if you insist of being this persistent, I shall show you my true form. Note that only true warriors can live to tell the tale, or else they will be vaporized instantly." She didn't give them time to reconsider, her transformation had begun. It started with her hair, her ponytail unraveled as her golden hair en-lengthened draping down her back. Where her shoulder blades were grew angelic white wings, tipped with traces of red the color of blood. Her cotton wraps transformed into silk clad with golden armour. Her entire body seemed to grow in size shining ever so brightly as nearby objects caught fire. The heat was unreal as wooden crates and litter vaporized almost at once, unfortunately this included the clothes of Ijiro who was standing no more than 3 feet away. Asura on the other hand felt a blast of heat but was not affected any other way, she was simply standing too far being perched on the roof.
As the light parted and darkness reformed, the naked Ijiro did the only thing he could, he scream.
"GIVE ME BACK MY CLOTHES!!!"
"Of course, here you go" with a simple flick of a finger, Ijiro's cotton wraps reappeared on him.
"Well now that we officially established that I'm a god, lets start fitting your HearthGears on shall we?"
As Asura jumped down from her previous position, Bishamonten produced what seemed to be two gauntlets. It shone brilliantly under the moonlight, they were both identical in design, it was made of metal shaped to fit their hands from the fingers all the way to their elbows. Both were engraved with a crystal on the center of the upper back of the hands. They were inscribed with wordings Ijiro and Asura could not understand, the only things that set them apart were the colors, the one on the left hand of Bishamonten was scarlet red matching Asura's eyes, the one on the right was ocean blue matching Ijiro's eyes. They immediately knew which one to take as Asura grabbed the left and Ijiro with the right. They both knew what the HearthGear's were and what they were used for, the crystal which sat on center of the gauntlet would determine it's power.
"What are the HearthGears made of?" Ijiro asked still overjoyed with the fact he received his very own gauntlets. Furthermore it looked way better than the ones handed out to the offensive units.
"They are both made from Endreanium, the hardest and rarest metal in Oppaeshia. And the crystal on Ijiro's is Cubrum, the best at boosting physical strength, the one on Asura's is Fluonor, it is the best at boosting one's intellegence. Quick tip, if the both of you can cooperate well enough, Asura can provide the plan and Ijiro can carry it out, follow my words and you will find anything possible."
"Does that mean we can leave the wall now?" Asura inquired seeming to have ignored Bishamonten.
"Once you get your equipment"
"And where will we find that?"
"There's a surprise waiting for you back at home" Bishamonten smiled back politely.
"We'll be on our way now, thank you for everything" Asura exclaimed with impatience.
"I'll be ever so grateful, make sure you heed my advice"
"Of course we will" Asura replied, Ijiro nodding in agreement. They were already turning the corner when they said that. They darted home to find a parsel waiting at their doorstep. It was a metal box considerably large, it was locked and would not budge open. Asura groaned in disappointment.
"Hold on" Ijiro fished around his pockets only to reveal a silver key. He had heard something jingling in his pockets as they were running and assumed Bishamonten had put it there intentionally.
"Hurry open it!" Asura cried excitedly. And with a satisfying click, the lock unlocked to reveal the box's contents. There were two sets of armours inside, similar to the design of the gauntlets, they were each made of similar materials to the ones on the gauntlets. Each set consisted of a helmet, chestplate, legging, a pair of boots, a left gauntlet to accompany the right with the exception of the crystal, and some elbow pads. The chestplate was engraved with a symbol which represented the legendary Paladin. Other items included a two handed sword with a color scheme that suited Ijiro's and a set of bow and arrows which accompanied Asura. Those were the weapons of choice for the both of them. They fitted them on almost at once only to realize how stupid they must've looked. Two knights in standing outside a house in the middle of a neighborhood which consisted mainly of farmers and merchants. The only occasion where knights would come into these parts of the city were either when there was a conflict going on or when some idiot would dress up as one just for the attention. Furthermore knights rarely returned home to their families wearing any armour and as such was a rare occasion for an armoured knight to appear.
It was when they exchanged looks after fitting on their new armour that Ijiro realized, they had no idea what to do now.
